The dive traveller is offered all that he or she could ever ask for in terms of dive experiences with regularly scheduled drift dives, wall dives, cavern dives and night dives, as well as Yap's specialty - Giant Manta dives.
Most of Yap's dive sites are located within a 30-50 minute boat ride of the dive centre.

Itineraries

The daily dive trips with Yap Divers visit all of Yap's best sites, including the famous manta rays. In the morning, dive crew will pick you up from your hotel and drop you off there when you return, or if you are staying at the Manta Ray Hotel the jetty and dive shop is located on site.

Departure times vary, depending on the destination. When diving with the mantas, the boats need to run in accordance with the local tides and can depart as early as 6:30 am, up until about 12 noon. For the reefs and wall dives, departure is usually around 8:30 am.
Although most guests prefer a single or two-tank dive trip, additional dives are offered throughout each day. Third tanks, fourth tanks, and night dives are offered daily.
On most two-tank dive trips you can expect to be back at your hotel by lunch time or early afternoon depending on your departure time.

The picturesque journey to Yap's best dive sites takes you through narrow channels and areas of thick mangrove growth, the vessels are very fast and travelling time to any of the sites is rarely more than 50 minutes from the dive centre.

All boats carry radio, oxygen and emergency medical kits for safety, and the boat drivers know every nook and cranny of the reefs by heart. Tanks and rental equipment are up to high standards.
On all dives you are escorted by one of the experienced dive masters, who will guide you to the best spots and point out the most interesting marine features. After the day's diving, equipment is washed in fresh water rinse tanks, and divers can leave their equipment in the secure overnight equipment room.

Make sure you don't miss the "mandarin fish dive" on rainbow reef, a shallow dive which is offered before dusk.

Yap Divers is the only dive operator in Yap to offer NITROX blends as well as PADI Enriched Air Specialty or TDI Nitrox Certification Classes.
"Manta Visions" offers a fully professional underwater video and photographic service to the customers of Manta Ray Bay Hotel and Yap Divers. With a fully efficient E-6 slide processing facility, Manta Visions offers a complete imagery service to visiting divers. A digital editing facility with expert instruction by the resident photo-pro is available.

A full range of instruction is available from Open Water through to Dive Master level. Also offered are a number of specialty dive certifications for those who want to expand their formal dive training.
Highly recommended by our clients is the PADI certified Manta Ray Awareness Course, which puts you in tune with manta behaviour and even helps you identify each individual creature as they all have their own names !

There are also various members of the dive team who speak a number of European languages such as German, Spanish & Italian, so it very often possible to pre-arrange to have particular crew members on duty to assist non-English speaking divers.
