Bali vacations
Pemuteran,
North West coast
Pemuteran is a quiet village on the North Coast of Bali. This is as far away
from the tourism hotspots of Kuta/Legian as is geographically possible, any further
and you fall into the ocean. Beautiful boutique hotels, great diving and activities
such as horseback riding, village visits, spoiling yourself with a massage, attending
ceremonies and celebrations, or simply unwinding by the pool or on the beach,
make for an incredibly relaxing holiday. This is definitely a destination which
is suitable for both divers and non-divers alike. Dive
packages which include 7 nights accommodation with ensuite facilities, breakfast,
5 dive days with 2 boat dives per day, start at US$485 twin/double per person
or US$695 single.
Tulamben
Famous amongst divers for what is probably one of the easiest wreck dives anywhere,
the USS Liberty. The wreck actually sat on the beach for approximately 20 years,
when the erruption of Bali's most famous volcano Mount Agung pushed it into the
water, where it has turned into a beautiful, artificial reef. Close to Tulamben
is the small village of Amed, which also offers some nice diving. Dive
packages which include 7 nights accommodation with ensuite facilities, breakfast,
5 dive days with 2 boat dives per day, start at US$485 twin/double/single per
person.
Padang
Bai
Another small Balinese village, which has hardly been affected by tourism.
However, over the last few years it has made a name for itself in diving circles.
All the famous dive sites along the East Coast, from Nusa Penida to Tulamben can
easily be reached from here, making Padang Bai one of my favourite places to base
myself when diving in Bali. Dive
packages which include 7 nights accommodation with ensuite facilities, breakfast,
5 dive days with 2 boat dives per day, start at US$485 twin/double per person,
US$575 single
