Accommodation
The new Ocean Quest
has a variety of cabins:
Itinerary
On day one you do two dives from your transfer boat before you arrive at Ocean
Quest after lunch. There you do an afternoon dive and you have the chance for
a night dive.
The vessel is permanently based on the Great Barrier Reef and
travels between different dive sites within Norman, Saxon, Hastings Reef. On a
full day out, you get the chance to do up to 5 dives. On your return day to Cairns
you do two or three dives before lunch and then take the transfer boat straight
back to Cairns.
As the vessel is serviced daily by a transfer vessel, it is
possible to arrange a liveaboard trip of any duration.
Features
- Ocean Quest is a PADI operation, they offer 5-day
Open Water courses on a daily basis, with 3 days/2 nights of the course spent
on board the vessel.
- PADI Advanced Open Water courses can also be arranged
for certified divers. Rescue, Divemaster and courses and Instructor courses are
offered as well.
- Introductory dives are available for non-certified divers:
AU$65 for the first dive, AU$45 for the second dive and AU$25 for the third consecutive
dive.
- Non-divers do have access to supervised snorkelling. The reefs are very
shallow and ideal for snorkellers.
- Basic disposable underwater cameras can
be purchased on board.
